Dr Imran Kassam graduated from DOW medical college and completed his training specialising in Cardiology at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney. His study in Cardiology incorporated fellowships in Heart Failure, Transplantation and Electrophysiology and Device therapy.
Dr Kassam's interest in Cardiology was further developed within the research field. Dr Kassam has been involved with multiple trials aimed at investigating mechanisms and treatments for heart transplantation and pulmonary hypertension. He has presented his research work in both local and overseas conferences.
As an interventional cardiologist Dr Kassam has extensive experience in a number of procedures including:
- Device implantation including CRT
- Diagnostic EP study and Catheter Ablation
- Right and Left Heart Catheterization
- Transthoracic and Tranesophageal Echocardiography
- Endomyocardian Biopsy
He specialises in patients with heart failure, syncope, palpitations, chest pain, Arrhythmias such as Atrial Fibrillation and is heavily involved in routine checks for risk factor modification.
